A year ago, the shortage was chips, specifically neural network chips. Then, it was easy to predict that the next shortage would be step-down transformers. You have to power these things. If the power coming out of the grid is 100-300 kV, it must be stepped down to 6 volts, which requires a lot of voltage reduction. One of my not-so-funny jokes is that you need a transformer to run a transformer. You know, in artificial intelligence, there’s something called Transformer. I don’t know, it’s a combination of neural networks. Anyway, the transformers used to run Transformers are almost out.
